This article from Wikipedia gives the list of names for the different generations. I happen to be in Generation Jones, a subgroup of the Consciousness Revolution.
The generation question was researched by the kindly Dr. E after discussing the segment on NPR in which it was stated that Generation Y members, having been brought up on noncompetitive sports, gradeless school, and self-esteem training, need constant praise to keep them happy at work.
Kinda like kindergarten.
