Tax Height!

The guys at the Tax Foundation are always thinking, bless their souls. They report on a paper done to show the absurdity of taxing foods considered by the paternal types in our society to be "unhealthy". This paper shows that to tax "unhealthy" foods incurs the same cost to those who are healthy as well as unhealthy. The alternative that makes real sense, if you're wanting to tax obesity, is to include a BMI line on the 1040 every year.

Another link in this article shows that Arkansas collected $40M in soft drink taxes, which was used to pay M'caid. I laughed all the way to the bank.

Thanks to the Tax Foundation for pointing out this article.
